Neuer Am See Cafe - Restaurant in Prien am Chiemsee

Great hotel, our room was super clean and modern, the bathroom was a bit tight for two people. We had a wonderful view of the harbor and the lake and if it hadn't been so cold you could have enjoyed this view on the balcony. A very special praise goes to the hotel management and the staff, everyone was very warm, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious, fresh and varied, the bread and rolls were perfect. I think from own production. In addition, the in-house café offers fantastic cakes and various baked goods, the sight of which is wonderful. The hygiene regulations are of course also implemented and adhered to.

Great as always! We had a doctor's appointment in Prien that we booked half a year ago. We were allowed to stay overnight and were happy because the appointment was due to ice and snow!

I had the pleasure of spending a beautiful weekend with my partner in this hotel. The enchanting location on Lake Chiemsee, also known as the "Bavarian Sea" makes it the ideal destination for visiting the islands and the region. The impression of the hotel, upon our arrival, was excellent because it exceeded all expectations: a very spacious suite, very tastefully furnished and equipped with every comfort, luxurious bathroom with shower and whirlpool tub, large balcony with splendid view of the lake and the surrounding mountains, impeccable cleanliness. The restaurant offers, in addition to an excellent and rich breakfast, delicious traditional and innovative dishes as well as excellent wines. The staff is very kind and attentive. Truly everything is aimed at making the guest feel welcomed and cared for. A place to return to for sure.

Fine Bavarian cuisine, menu that changes daily, very good wines by the glass (even Beerenauslese / Eiswein), friendly and professional service. Every day of the week there is a different hit at the best price-performance ratio. Better to reserve.

Great hotel, nice renovated rooms and the inn is very good. Breakfast everything you need and a great selection of cakes / tarts for the afternoon. The employees are a big plus - everything is super friendly! We can only recommend the house.

We were from 6.9. until 8.9.2020 here. Our double room was comfortably furnished. A small fridge / minibar for the water would be an advantage. The room facing the street was very noisy at night with the window open. There is no air conditioning. The staff took care of our physical well-being, the breakfast was excellent, we had dinner once; that was good. Coffee and cake were great. We liked the place very much, including a tour of the Chiemsee.

We spent a wonderful week at the Hotel Neuer. From the service, to the cleanliness and the food, everything was perfect. We felt completely at ease. We will definitely be back!

The food that is offered in this hotel is absolutely excellent! For a very fair price, the four of us were very well fed here. There was nothing wrong with the service and the ambience either, so that a visit, at least to eat, is very worthwhile if you are planning a day trip to the Chiemsee!

We had a very great overnight stay. The room and from breakfast, coffee and cake to dinner, everything was really great and the staff was always very friendly. The baked goods are all made in-house, whatever you can taste 👌 The current measures have also been implemented very well!

The service was super super friendly. But that was also the best. The scrambled eggs on offer have been under the heat lamp for 20 minutes. A pretzel instead of a roll was not possible. Two slices of cheap ham and two slices of tasteless cheese. Price performance does not fit.

We stopped there twice on Sunday: in the afternoon we enjoyed the wonderful cake, and in the evening we let the quality of the food convince us. Both are definitely recommended. We sat with the same waitress in the afternoon and in the evening. Extremely friendly and on the ball ;-)

Was in the restaurant on September 13th at 12:30 pm with my husband and my 2 year old daughter. Since we wanted to catch the ship at 1:30 p.m. I carefully asked how long it would be before the food came. Thereupon the blonde waitress (around 45 years old) replied very unfriendly "not for long" and looked really annoyed and puffed. I then kindly told her that it was my right to ask how long it would be before the food came, she needn't be annoyed about it. The restaurant was full. Thereupon she says "if you ask like that, it will take even longer". Of course we got up and left. I have never experienced such cheek in a restaurant / bar !! Goodbye!

Hotel with a restaurant that I can only recommend. The wait staff are always friendly, from the terrace you can regularly see the narrow-gauge railway passing by and you also have a view of the Chiemsee, and you can walk directly to the lake in 2 minutes and rent a boat to drive across the lake or in the adjacent area Park to rest in the shade on warm days

We were there for coffee and cake. Unfortunately long waiting time for the service. The cappuccino was lukewarm. The cake was okay, normal size. It's a shame you could have done a lot more.

The location is very good, right on the lake. Unfortunately we didn't like the food. Three adults have ordered 3 different fish dishes that start with "freshly caught". The Chiemseerenken were fried in a breading, which was not on the menu. Spaetzle was very fatty. The price was around € 20 per person. So middle class. So we expected more from the food. The service rounded off our visit nicely. The question "where we can sit down" was answered with a short "don't care" :) the food almost slammed on the table. Well the lady may have had a bad day :)) Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this restaurant.

Bad experience. We asked the room in English if it was possible to eat and have a menu in English. He snorted and reluctantly led us to the table. Once seated he ignored us by serving and cleaning other tables. Incorrect behavior given the high prices and the limited variety of the menu

We were very satisfied. Wonderful room. Very clean. Well organized. Fine restaurant with good wines and its own pastry shop 😋. A clear recommendation. We would come back.

Friendly and helpful staff. The first impression is good, the hotel looks good. The check in was great, without any problems. The room was spacious and clean. The bed comfortable. Breakfast - a great choice, good coffee. We had an evening meal and it was good, large portion and tasty. The only negative point is that the parking space is not paved.

Hotel and cafe with great cakes. Nice place for afternoon tea/coffee. Have not tried their savoury menu. Lovely location with Chiemsee Views. Probably a nice place to spend nights.

Good restaurant with delicious food and good service. Located right opposite to the harbour, which made the quest for restaurant (& food) after a day of sightseeing around the lake very pleasant. The Apfelstrudel was delicious; we tried it because of the Strudel day recommendation. I will recommend it to others.

Comfortable room, fast check in, clean and friendly staff... Super close to the lake, ferry to the castle (and the other islands) and nearby restaurants. Great breakfast and restaurant at the hotel. Short drive from the town.

Expensive but very clean

Had to ask multiple waitress' just for a menu, after asking 3 times we got one. Food and drink was great however we didnt get offered more drinks and also waited 30 minutes for the bill after asking, only to then go in and pay ourselves...

The food is good, not nicely presented but well cooked. They have a lot of choice and they served us quite fast. However, the service was definitely not good. They were not smiling, felt upset each time we were asking them something and were annoyed when we asked to pay by card.

We really like the Restaurant and Pastry shop associated with Hotel Neuer am See. If we are driving anywhere near Prien am Chiemsee and have the time, we will divert and eat a meal there and buy a load of pastries from the shop. If we don't have time for a meal, we will still buy a load of pastries. If you haven't made a reservation, you might not get a seat in the main restaurant because the Hotel guests get first priority, but if you do get a seat in the main restaurant, especially if it is one with a window view, it is a very relaxing meal.

We went to the hotel for a dinner. The food was pretty good, although not perfect, and the service was fine.

Beautiful small hotel 2 minute walking for the Chiemsee lake, where you can take the boats to Schloss Herrenchiemsee. My husband and I sleep there one for one night while a round trip Thu Baviera region, and I must say that this was the most charming place we stay. The rooms were just refurbished and yours had a marvelous view to the lake. Besides a hotel, this place is also a restaurant and bakery. I would very must recommend to eat there since food is good Bavarian food. Some fish dishes for the lake are available. Besides that I stringy recommend the cakes, that are something really, really tasty, and the offer is very big.
